One of the internal opportunities every officer should try out is the sports officer Post at the divisions. You have all the financial powers and sporting assets under your control. You can make many sporting activities happen. Locally many sports associations of district will be in direct contact with you.
All division sports association are under zonal sports associations which report to RSPB which is the nodal department at ministry headed by Director Sports an open post to all officers. RSPB IS under Member Staff who is it’s president.
RSPB has many Railway, National and international level sporting activities. Once you start doing activities you can explore higher avenues.

Sourav Day Sir has applied for MEXT Scholarship in 2019 and got through with 2 LOA’s from 2 separate schools under University of Tokyo.
This is the First Time an IRTS got MEXT.
Earlier IRTS Officers were not being considered for MEXT but because of his efforts now others can benefit too.

MEXT is a scholarship offered globally by the Ministry of culture, sports, science, education and technology of Japan (Monbukagakusho scholarship). Every year the notification comes out in training circular page of indian railways website. All other details can be found over there.
However I would just like emphasise on the fact that it was originally available exclusively to railway engineers, meaning those who have joined railways through IES. I wrote a detailed letter to the Secretary, RB and finally MT had assured that traffic officers have been made eligible. i request all of you to avail the opportunity if you’re eligible.

Just wanted to share : SrDOM BKN , Sunil Mahala Sir of 2009 Batch has done some superb stuff in developing sports especially cycling in the region of Bikaner ..As sports officer He has led us in organising one world railway , two inter railways and NOW the best ever NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP with over 700 cyclists and 100 officials . Just keep watching ….More laurels are yet to come in terms of developing centre’s of excellence and Flood lit stadiums etc ..👏👏
